• After 11 months of deliberations into the proposed sale of Dairy Crest ‘Dairies’ operations to Muller, the Competitions and Markets Authority (CMA) have today accepted the undertakings provided, and approved the £80m deal.

Completion is now expected to be before the end of 2015 – in late December.

DCD welcomes the conclusion to the CMA’s review, and will continue working with Dairy Crest at Davidstow, as well as working to develop a new Dairies relationship with Muller, and with Muller’s farmer representatives.

When the Dairy Crest Dairies sale was announced almost a year ago, (6th November 2014), all DCD Dairies members received a letter from Muller’s Ronald Kers providing reassurance that all existing contract terms would remain intact, and that Muller looked forward to working with DCD.

Unfortunately, throughout the lengthy CMA process, DCD has been unable to enter into discussions with our potential new processor or equivalent farmer respresentative group. However, with the CMA announcement today, we now look forward to opening up these new relations as soon as is possible. Please click on the link for more details of the CMA announcement.
