• DCD welcomes Dairy Crest’s leading liquid milk price stance in announcing a +1.5p/litre increase from June. This delivering a standard litre milk price of 31.37p/l.

Also confirmed within this edition, a new DCD led Volume Incentive Scheme for those on standard liquid, Formula and Liquid FBC contracts, worth 2p/litre on all litres supplied above those produced last year (2012/13). The only conditions being that you need to exceed a 2% threshold above last year, if exceeded, 2p paid on all litres above the 12/13 base. Also, this incentive is not available to those farmers under notice.

Other news included within, milk production falls as dairy markets dramatically increase. (Well, except for commodity cheese …for now).

First DCD Forum Meeting of the 2013/14 milk year is being held at the end of April, do feed back your views through your Forum Member – see contact details on this site.
